Job Description/Essential Functions:

Since 1995, Pioneer Technologies Corporation (PTC) has provided technical, analytic, and project management support to the Department of Defense. PTC’s engineers and analysts help meet the technological needs of warfighters in multifaceted mission areas. PTC’s team includes experts in the fields of engineering, operations research, modeling and simulation, architecture development, and flight test.

This position provides support 46th Test Squadron at Eglin AFB FL, to include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Senior-level Engineering Technician and member of Tactical Integration Test team.

  • Interfaces directly with System Program Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs as well as development contractors.

  • Plans, executes, and reports on TACP CASS, BAO and associated datalink systems including Common Data Link (CDL), Link 16, Situation Awareness Data Link (SADL), Integrated Data Modem (IDM), Remotely Operated Vehicle for Emplacement & Reconnaissance (ROVER), Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) and other systems.Operates datalink equipment with Link 16, Variable Message Format (VMF), and Cursor on Target Systems (CoT) and various other emergent joint and coalition capabilities.

  • As a technical leader in an engineering role, reviews customer requirements and participates in test planning meetings. Develops test plans and procedures, schedules, and executes a test within the constraints of customer requirements and produces a timely test reports.

  • Travels to locations to conduct tests, collect and reduce data.

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position requires a minimum of three years’ relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, etc.) Six years of applicable technical experience may be substituted for the BS degree (total 9 years) or four years’ experience with an Associate’s Degree (total 7 years).

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

  • Experience as a test engineer, assisting or leading in the planning, execution, and reporting of Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E).

  • Experience in communications testing, to include radios such as UHF (UHF SATCOM, SINCGARS, Have Quick) and VHF, and an understanding of RF systems testing in general.

  • Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing datalink system testing.

  • The candidate must have good interpersonal communications skills and be comfortable working in a team environment.

  • Must possess effective communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.

  • Must be capable of traveling to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations.

  • Proficient in the use and integration of the MS Office Suite of applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Other Job Information (if applicable):

  • Experience and knowledge of tactical datalinks such as CDL, Link 16 Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), Multinational Information Distribution System (MIDS) and SADL in both Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) mission threads is highly desired.

  • Telemetry experience is a plus, but must be technically adept on RF theory and practical hands on applications and operation to include trouble shooting equipment, data, and network problems.

  • An understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies including AFI 99-103, Capabilities Based Test and Evaluation, is highly desired.
