Kforce has a client in search of a System Administrator in Hurlburt Field, Florida (FL).Summary: The System Administrator reports directly to an assigned Project Manager who receives technical guidance and instruction from the C2MS Chief Engineer. The ideal candidate is a proactive learner and problem solver to develop automated solutions to prevent recurring problems. The System Administrator will have the technical expertise in the design, deployment, management, and operational sustainment of production systems and enterprise services with the customer's cloud-based environment.Specific Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing automated processes and procedures for the operations and maintenance of the cloud-based environment, including patching, monitoring, tuning, backups, and reporting

  • Designing and implementing cloud-based architectures for the deployment of new products and services in the cloud-based environment

  • Migrating legacy on-premises services and enterprise products in the cloud-based environment, utilizing cloud best practices, scripting, and automation wherever possible

  • Identifying and mitigating threats and security issues in compliance with the security posture

  • Performing system upgrades and improvements, utilizing automated processes and procedures

  • Adhering to the DevOps lifecycle, using industry-standard tools and practices

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience

  • DoD 8570-compliant certification is required; Security and CISSP accepted

  • AWS Associate, AWS Professional, or Red Hat certifications highly desired

  • 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis

  • Experience with managing enterprise products and applications for a large userbase

  • System administration experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux is highly desired

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desired

  • Specific experience in one or more of the following a plus: Apache, Nginx, NodeJS, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Splunk, Entrust, Atlassian/Jira, Red Hat Directory Server

  • Experience with scripting or software development, such as bash, Perl, or python, utilizing source code control (such as git or mercurial) and issue tracking systems (such as Atlassian or Redmine)
