  • Perform the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and support of desktop computers, thin/zero clients, servers, and related virtualized systems.

  • Evaluate, test, monitor, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and systems such as hardware, firmware, and software.

  • Ensure security design, control, and procedures are aligned with information security standards established within the Information System and are appropriate to mitigate risk of exposure.

  • Assist in monitoring, responding, configuring, installing, and repairing hardware and software problems according to established procedures.

  • Perform administration activities for Microsoft Active Directory, Global Policy, and Exchange to include installation, configuration, and hardening systems to meet security requirements.

  • Assist in daily backup operations, ensure all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media; recovery tapes or disks are created, and file archival.

  • Assist in planning, implementation, and the administration of the Storage Area Network (SAN).

  • Perform SIEM analysis from multiple sources to identifying threats, deviations and trends within the Information System.

  • Create effective system administration scripts and utilities in various scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl, and PowerShell).

  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of security related incidents and under direct supervision, perform computer and network forensics using various tools.

  • Assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and cyber security personnel in order to maintain accurate and updated documentation as required by Department of Defense Directives and related regulations to include, but not limited to writing System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTMs), Risk Analysis Reports (RARs), and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).

  • Perform audits as directed/required by the ISSM.

  • Interface with peers and managers to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

  • Provide end user training in standard IT processes, procedures, and DoD Directives.

  • Ability to work under time constraints, a self-starter, customer focused, adaptable, and willing to work varying assignments.



  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline or equivalent training and experience required

  • Minimum of six (6) years relevant Systems Administrator experience including complex systems design, programming and systems software and support. Must have experience in the design, planning, and implementation of reliable enterprise level systems.

  • Clearance Requirement:US Citizen with existing Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance or higher

Experience / Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The individual must meet position and certification requirements outlined in Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 (IAT-2), i.e., CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate) or GSLC.

  • Must have practical working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.Cisco CCNA certification or higher, with 6 years of related experience with a demonstrated ability troubleshooting moderately complex networks.

  • Minimum 4-6 years experience administering Windows servers (2008r2 and above), DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Exchange, and IIS.

  • Minimum 4-6 years experience installing, configuring, and maintaining VMware ESXi 6.x or higher. A preference towards VMware Certification of VCP6-DCV or higher.

  • Minimum 3 years storage administration of SAN and/or NAS storage environments.

  • Working knowledge with RedHat Enterprise Linux (6.8 and above).

  • Working knowledge with Fortigate equipment.

  • Expert knowledge of patch management and change control practices.

  • Expert knowledge of industry best practices for monitoring, tiered storage, backup, and disaster recovery.

  • Increased knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.

  • Experience implementing computer security.

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency

  • Experience troubleshooting complex IT server and COTS application issues.

  • Exceptional communication skills; must have the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization and with individuals from diverse disciplines and levels of technical expertise.

  • Ability to serve in a technical Point of Contact (POC) role and effectively interact with external personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organization


  • Experience with Windows 2016, 2012, and 2008 operating syste

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL, IIS, SharePoint

  • Experience with Windows server technologies: SCCM, WSUS, IIS, File and Print, DFS-R

  • Experience with Symantec Enterprise Protection Products (End Point Protection)

  • Experience with Cisco Nexus NX-OS Operating System

  • Experience with HP Servers

  • Experience with ClearCube Thin/Zero Clients

  • Experience with VMware Horizon 7.x , NSX, and vRealize Operations

  • Experience with Unitrends Recovery Appliance backup devices

  • Experience with Veritas Software

  • Experience with Splunk

  • Experience with MatlabC
