NOTE: This position requires extensive travel, both domestic and international. Prospective applicants MUST reside within ONE HOUR drive from major international airport within the U.S East coast region


The Aeroderivative Turbine Mechanic will perform hands-on field service work on General Electric LM2500, LM6000 and LMS100 gas turbines. The work includes but is not limited to; engine removals/installations, hot section exchanges, and other types of routine

maintenance tasks.


  • Work as part of a team assisting during engine removals/installations, hot section exchanges, and other types of routine maintenance tasks on Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (LM2500, LM6000, LMS100)

  • Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines

  • Support Lead Field Service Representatives and Technical Advisors as required to safely complete the scope of maintenance

  • Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms and job reports, as required, in a timely manner

  • Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work siteKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to safely use basic hand tools

  • Able to dismantle and assemble industrial machinery & equipment

  • Skilled at forklift operation

  • Knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

  • Skilled at compression tubing fitting and bending

  • Knowledge of basic rigging and lifting equipment

  • Skilled at assembly & disassembly of flanged piping connections

  • Able to interpret and implement technical proceduresPHYSICAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available on short notice for extended travel periods away from home

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

  • Must wear personal safety protection equipment (PPE) prescribed by Company or Customer requirements

  • Must be prepared to work in different shifts, as required, to safely complete the assignment

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds/22 kilograms

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stepsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working as a mechanical technician with aero LM2500, LM6000 or LMS100 gas turbines is desired but not required. mechanical experience in other turbines also good.

  • Airframe & Power Certification, Associate’s Degree in a Technical field, or former U.S. Military Gas Turbine Systems Technician is preferred.

  • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.

  • Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.
